Derek Barnes

Derek Barnes is an experienced professional in the forestry and timber procurement industry, currently serving as an Asset Manager at Beasley Group since August 2018. With a background as the Owner of Advanced Timber Harvesters LLC from 2014 to August 2018, Derek led a full-service timber harvesting company in delivering forest products in Middle and South Georgia. Prior experience includes roles as a Procurement Forester at Triple Oak Land & Timber (2007-2014), Thompson Hardwoods (2004-2007), and T&S Hardwoods (2000-2003), where responsibilities involved wood procurement and forest management activities. Derek holds a Bachelor of Science in Forest Resources from The University of Georgia, obtained between 1995 and 1998, and is a Registered Forester with 16 years of experience in wood procurement and logging.
