Doug Patterson has held a variety of roles in the military and civilian sectors. Doug began their career in 2005 as Engineer Officer on USS GERMANTOWN. In 2006, they moved to Afloat Training Group Pacific as Diesel Engineering Assessments Deputy. In 2007, they were Facilities Manager at Defense Energy Support Center, and in 2008 they became Scheduling Officer at Military Sealift Command. From 2010-2012, Patterson attended the Naval War College as a student, and then served as Executive Officer on USS TORTUGA (LSD 46) and USS ASHLAND (LSD 48). In 2015, they became Executive Officer/Engineering Senior Assessor at US Navy, and in 2019 they were COMMANDING OFFICER at Training Support Center. Most recently, in 2021, they were appointed Director of Training Solutions at Beast Code.
Doug Patterson has a diverse educational background, beginning with a BA in Political Science from the University of San Diego, which they completed in 2004. Doug then attended the U.S. Naval War College, where they earned a Masters in National Security and Strategic Studies in 2011. In 2016-2017, they obtained a Master's Certificate in Lean Project Management from Villanova University. Currently, they are a Graduate Student at North Dakota State University's Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute, studying Transportation and Urban Systems.
