Derek Clark

Derek Clark has a diverse work experience that spans across various industries. Derek currently holds the position of Director of Product Management - Music Services at Beatport since May 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Limited Partner at Side Door Ventures starting in September 2023. Derek also co-founded LabelRadar Inc. in October 2017, a platform that facilitates the demo submission process in the music industry, which was later acquired by The Beatport Group in May 2022. Additionally, they served on the advisory board of Let The Music Pay (d/b/a RCRDSHP) from April 2021 to March 2023, providing guidance on their go-to-market strategy. Derek gained experience in mobile app market intelligence as an Account Executive and Business Development Representative at Apptopia Inc. from July 2019 to February 2020, where they consistently exceeded monthly quotas. Derek co-founded BookThinkers, Inc. in December 2016, and prior to that, they gained experience as an Operations Intern at MassChallenge in September to November 2016. Derek also has entrepreneurial experience as the Small Business Owner of College Guys Landscaping from June 2008 to September 2016.

Derek Clark completed their education at Berklee College of Music, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Music Business from 2014 to 2017. Prior to that, they attended Bridgewater State University from 2012 to 2014, and Oliver Ames High School from 2008 to 2012. In addition to their formal education, Derek has also obtained multiple certifications in various fields such as finance, artificial intelligence, product management, Scrum Master, accounting, and UX design from different institutions like LinkedIn and Stanford Online.
