Iain Smith is currently the Stormwater Technical Director at Beca, where they focus on stormwater and rivers engineering. With a background in civil and environmental engineering design and management, Iain has worked on a range of projects from highways to bridge assessments. They previously held positions as an Engineer at MWH Global and the Babtie Group, and served as an Associate Civil Engineer at Beca from 2016 to 2023. Iain earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Environmental Engineering from the University of Canterbury.
