because of joy is a non profit organization based in North Texas which provides awareness, financial support and education for families affected by birth defects, disabilities or diseases.  We are very active in helping the Spina Bifida community in the area.

We organize events to provide awareness and raise funds.
Joy was born in 1997 with Spina Bifida - a birth defect affecting the spine during developement.  She lived a short 4 months and inspired us to dig deep and find Joy and then cause it in our community... so we do this because of joy... and hope you will join us in our efforts.
 
We hold several annual events such as Tee it up for Joy charity golf tournament, Tea for Joy afternoon Tea and our newest event is the enJOYathon race.
 
Because of joy believes in giving everyone the opportunity to succeed and we strive to make that a possibility for individuals with disabilities related to birth defects or disease.
 
We are always looking for new opportunities to impact the world. Join us in our efforts.
