Fred DeSousa is an experienced communications professional with a background in project communications and public affairs. Currently serving as the Project Communications Lead at Bechtel Corporation since January 2014, Fred oversees communications for the Thacker Pass lithium mine project, which is set to support electric vehicle battery production. Prior to this role, Fred managed public affairs for Bechtel's government services and commercial nuclear business unit. Previous positions include Communications Specialist at Los Alamos National Laboratory and various leadership roles in media, including Executive Producer and Managing Editor at KTNV-TV and WDAF. Fred holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from Iowa State University.
