Matt Carney is a highly experienced hydraulic and hydrologic engineer with significant expertise in infrastructure and industrial projects. Currently serving as a Principal Hydraulic & Hydrologic Engineer at Bechtel Corporation since April 2023, Carney previously held positions at the New York Power Authority as a Senior Hydrologist II, where contributions included developing long-term hydropower forecast models, and at Bechtel from August 2008 to June 2020 as a Senior Engineering Specialist. Earlier career highlights include a lead role on the TANAP project at Natural Resources Consulting Engineers, and experience as a Water Resources Engineer at Gomez and Sullivan Engineers. Carney began a career in engineering as a Surveyor at Boston Survey Inc. and holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
