Paul Lawless

Paul Lawless is an experienced professional in systems engineering and safety management with a strong background in the railway industry. Currently serving as the Head of Systems Engineering and Assurance at Bechtel Corporation, Paul drives the implementation of best-practice strategies for railway systems delivery. Previous roles include Systems Engineering Manager for the East Denmark ERTMS project at Banedanmark, where Paul oversaw system integration for the Danish Signalling Programme, and a Systems Consultant at Transport for London, contributing to the establishment of safety engineering principles for signalling systems. With a career spanning over two decades, Paul has held key positions across various companies, including Wood Group Kenny, London Underground, and Thales, focusing on systems engineering, safety assessments, and project management in complex engineering environments. Paul holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic & Communication Engineering from the University of Plymouth and a BTEC Higher National Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Weston Super Mare C of FE.
