Robert Meakin is an international projects and construction lawyer currently serving as Senior Counsel at Bechtel Limited, focusing on energy infrastructure. Previously, they were a partner in private practice for nearly 20 years, working at Shadbolt LLP and Clyde & Co LLP. Their career has spanned fields such as energy and transport infrastructure and commercial development, where they have advised various stakeholders, particularly international contractors, on complex procurement structures. Robert has a comprehensive understanding of standard industry contract forms and has extensive experience in negotiating EPC contracts and PPP schemes. They began their legal career as a trainee solicitor at Slaughter and May and hold a BA Honours in Jurisprudence from St Edmund Hall, Oxford University.
