Marc Wayne

Marc Wayne has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Marc is currently working as a Director at Global Study, a company that helps students around the world with college applications and enrollment. In addition to that, they are also the Chairman and Co-founder of SW21, a startup studio that invests in early-stage impact startups in the health, education, and cleantech sectors.

Prior to their current roles, Marc Wayne held several leadership positions in the cannabis industry. Marc served as the Chairman and Co-Founder of Beckley Psytech, a company focused on developing psychedelic compounds into licensed pharmaceutical medicines. Marc also co-founded and served as the Co-Managing Director of Beckley Canopy Therapeutics, a joint venture between Beckley Research & Innovations and Canopy Health Innovations, where they researched and developed cannabis-based medicines.

Marc Wayne has an extensive background in the cannabis industry, having served as the Co-Founder and President of Bedrocan Canada Inc., a federally licensed producer and distributor of medicinal cannabis. Marc also worked at Canopy Growth Corporation, a world-leading diversified cannabis company, where they held various positions such as Co-Managing Director - Global Research of Spectrum Therapeutics and Managing Director and Officer.

Additionally, Marc Wayne has experience in strategic consulting and advising new businesses on formation and structuring commercial transactions through their role as President of Spiderco Investments Corporation.

Throughout their career, Marc Wayne has demonstrated a strong focus on social impact and financial returns.

Marc Wayne attended the Toronto French School (TFS) from 1969 to 1984, receiving a high school diploma as an Ontario Scholar. Marc then pursued a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Biology/Biological Sciences from Queen's University, graduating in 1988. Following this, they attended York University from 1988 to 1990 as a candidate for a Master's degree in Environmental Studies.
