Debra Somberg

Debra Somberg is an independent corporate director, board chair and committee chair. They currently serve on the boards of Absher Construction Company and Port Blakely Companies, and chair the board of directors at BECU. At Absher Construction Company they sit on the Audit Committee and chair the Compensation Committee; at Port Blakely they are the incoming Chair of the Nominating and Governance committees. They founded NewView in 2015, which operated through 2024 as a non-profit organization, and previously led Sovern Group as Managing Partner (2011-2015) and Maveron LLC as Co-Managing Partner (2000-2011). Earlier, they held senior roles at Montgomery Securities (Senior Managing Director, 1992-1999) and Goldman Sachs (Analyst, 1987-1989).
