John McMurray

John McMurray, CFA, CPA, QRD®, currently serves as a Board Director and Audit Committee Member at BECU, where responsibilities include chairing the Audit, Finance, and Risk Committees. From September 2010 to July 2023, John held the position of Chief Risk Officer and Chief Audit Executive at Russell Investments, and was also a Board Director for Russell Investments Ireland Limited from March 2012 to June 2023, focusing on risk management for UCITS and AIFMD platforms. John's earlier career includes significant roles as Chief Risk Officer and Chief Credit Officer at both the Federal Home Loan Bank and Bank of America / Countrywide, and over 20 years at Freddie Mac in various financial services capacities. John is an experienced educator, having taught Applied Mathematics and Finance at the University of Washington between January 2013 and December 2022. Academic credentials include a Master of Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a Bachelor of Science from Trinity University, an MBA from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and a CERT Certificate in Cybersecurity Oversight from Carnegie Mellon University.
