Jed Dean

Jed Dean is an independent advisor who currently works with growth stage companies and serves as a venture partner at Bee Partners since 2023. They have held significant leadership roles, notably as the VP of Operations & Engineering and a founder at Zymergen, Inc., from 2013 to 2021. Previously, Jed held positions as a scientist at Amyris from 2008 to 2013 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Stanford Genome Technology Center from 2007 to 2008. They earned a PhD in Biochemistry from Stanford University School of Medicine and a BS in Molecular Biology from Purdue University.
