Andy Liu has a wide range of work experience. Andy began their career as a Research Assistant at Rice University in 2009, where they developed a C code package for Monte Carlo Discontinuous Galerkin methods and applied it to reservoir simulation. Andy also reduced computational cost of MCDG by using MPI to solve large scale parabolic problems on computing cluster STIC, and generated random permeability fields using Kernel PCA with SPE10 model as input and applied it to single phase flow. In 2013, they joined QRI as a Technical Team Lead for the Quantum Toolbox. Additionally, they were an Analyst for the Innovation Group, focusing on developing a waterflood management tool to quickly identify the connectivity between each injector and producer in both brown and green fields. In 2016, they became the VP of Business Development at Panton Inc. and in 2018, they founded and became the CEO of Bees360, Inc.
Andy Liu obtained a Ph.D. in Computational and Applied Mathematics from Rice University in 2013, and a Master of Arts in Computational and Applied Mathematics from Rice University in 2010. Andy also obtained three certifications: Andy'story Matching and Conditioning Reservoir Models to Dynamic Data from the Society of Petroleum Engineers in 2015, Reservoir Simulation for Practical Decision Making from the Society of Petroleum Engineers in 2015, and Fundamentals of Reservoir Simulation from Stanford University in 2014.
