Christopher Avellis has a diverse work experience in the field of software development. Christopher is currently the Director of Engineering, Platform Services at BEGiN, where they manage a team of developers and oversees the development and improvement of shared backend services and APIs. Prior to joining BEGiN, Christopher worked at codeSpark for seven years as a Principal Software Engineer. In this role, they worked on features and content for codeSpark Academy, a game that teaches kids about programming and Computer Science. Christopher also maintained and developed websites for the company and developed game servers using AWS, Node.js, and MongoDB.
Before codeSpark, Christopher worked at Fuel Industries as a Virtual Worlds Game Developer, where they developed Unity games for mobile and worked on an MMO as the Flash lead. Christopher managed a small team of external offshore Flash developers and collaborated with design, illustration, and production teams to deliver weekly content to users.
Christopher's earlier experiences include working at The Cimarron Group as a Flash Developer, Meteor Games as a Senior Flash Game Engineer, Nickelodeon Virtual Worlds Group as a Tech. Lead and Client Lead for Petpet Park, and Neopets as a Senior Manager of Technical Games Production and Flash Developer.
Throughout their career, Christopher has gained expertise in various programming languages and technologies such as C#, Unity, Flash, ActionScript, and PHP.
Christopher Avellis attended the Academy of Art University from 2004 to 2010. During this time, they focused on studying graphic design without obtaining a degree.
