Eric Van Balen has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of security. Eric is currently the Head of Global Security at BeiGene, where they are responsible for the Global Security and EHS functions. Prior to that, they served as the Security Forces Branch Chief in the US Air Force Reserve. Eric also held the position of Vice President Global Security at Cardinal Health and Senior Director of Global Security Operations & Crisis Management at McKesson. Earlier in their career, they worked as the Director of Security Operations at Northwest Airlines and as a Special Agent in the U.S. Secret Service. Eric began their professional journey as a USAF Officer.
Eric Van Balen obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Studies from the United States Air Force Academy from 1987 to 1991. Eric then pursued a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University from 1999 to 2000. Eric also obtained a certification in Business Continuity (CBCI) from the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) in 2011. In addition, Eric attended the USAF Air War College from 2016 to 2017 and the USAF Air Command and Staff College from 2015 to 2016, although no degrees or fields of study are provided for these experiences.
