Founded in 1951 by the Max Planck Society, the Beilstein-Insitut is dedicated to unrestricted access to scientific research. Through the publication of Beilstein’s open access journals (Beilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry and the Beilstein Journal of Nanotechnology), the international Beilstein Symposia, Beilstein Talks and data standardization projects such as STRENDA and MIRAGE (guidelines for data reporting in the areas of enzyme chemistry and glycomics), Beilstein actively supports direct scientific exchange and fosters open science.
