Roel Veenstra

Roel Veenstra is currently the Head of Breeding for Brassica, Leafy, and Beans at Bejo Zaden, a position they have held since 2024. Previously, Roel worked at Bejo Zaden from 1997 to 2013, where they served as a Researcher in the Phytopathology Department and later as Crop Research Manager, overseeing Brassica breeding globally. Roel began their career as a Student Researcher at HortResearch, focusing on apple and onion research from 1995 to 1996. They earned a Master's degree in Phytopathology from Wageningen Universiteit en Researchcentrum and completed a Post Graduate Course in Plant Breeding at Wageningen Business School.
