James Burns

James Burns is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in marine detail design and piping engineering. Currently serving as Engineering Manager and Senior Team Lead at Belcan since April 2018, James has a key role in the Type-26 Global Combat Ship project as a Principal Piping & Outfit Engineer. Previous positions include Discipline Lead at WorleyParsons and various roles at Amec Foster Wheeler and BAE Systems, where James contributed to significant projects such as the CVF Aircraft Carrier and Type-45 Destroyer. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Mechanical Engineering from Glasgow Caledonian University and an HNC in Mechanical Engineering from Glasgow Clyde College.
