Simon Standaert

Simon Standaert has a diverse work experience. Simon started their professional career as a Ph.D Student at Ghent University in 2006 and continued until 2011. In 2011, they worked as a Leraar at Zusters maricolen for a brief period of 10 months. From 2011 to 2017, Simon worked at ING Belgium, where they held the positions of MRM analyst and later joined the MRM Project Team. In 2015, they briefly worked as an MRM Analyst at ING Brasil. In 2017, Simon joined Belfius as a Risk Analyst and later became the Head of Market Risk Monitoring in November 2019. Additionally, Simon served as a board member at Diggie vzw from 2004 to 2013.

Simon Standaert began their education at Don Boscocollege Zwijnaarde from 1996 to 2002. It is unclear whether they obtained a degree or what their field of study was during this time. Simon then attended Ghent University from 2002 to 2006, where they obtained a Master's degree in Physics. Following this, Standaert pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) at Ghent University from 2006 to 2010, specializing in the field of Physics. In 2012, they enrolled in the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) and completed the certification for Financial Risk Management (FRM) by 2013.
