BellwaldTEC is developing a versatile digital measuring system that can be used in orthopedic technology to quickly, inexpensively, cleanly and precisely record the surface shape of limbs and thus has the potential to replace plaster casts for taking impressions. For this purpose, the patient wears a scanning textile (e.g. a sock) equipped with a network of magnetic sensors that can measure the spatial position within an external magnetic field. Our customers will save hours of work because we measure in seconds and read out 3D data that can be seamlessly integrated into existing fully digital workflows for the design and manufacture of orthoses and prostheses.

BellwaldTEC is a Swiss start-up company. The core technology is based on a scanning textile invented at the FHNW School of Life Sciences in Muttenz. The inventors are Prof. Dr. Joris Pascal, Thomas Ruepp and Ralf Schumacher.
