Alper Aksac

Alper Aksac is an accomplished software engineer with extensive experience in machine learning, data science, and software development. Currently serving as the Lead Software Engineer for Machine Learning at BenchSci since October 2021, Alper has previously held multiple senior data engineering roles within the same company and worked as a Data Scientist at Canscan Inc., where automated container inspection solutions were developed using advanced classification and object detection models. Alper's academic background includes a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Calgary, complemented by significant research and teaching assistant positions. Notable projects include the development of medical software for disease diagnosis, a web application for aircraft data maintenance, and innovative systems for hand tracking and gesture recognition. Alper’s foundational education in Computer Engineering includes both MSc and BSc degrees from TOBB Ekonomi ve Teknoloji Üniversitesi.
