Julia Plakhotnik

Julia Plakhotnik, PhD, is a science tech lead at BenchSci, where they are currently enhancing preclinical drug R&D through a pioneering AI-powered life science research platform. Their past experience includes being a scientist at The Hospital for Sick Children, where they developed advanced machine learning algorithms for cardiac health and toxicity testing. Julia also served as a teaching assistant at the University of Toronto, teaching undergraduate biochemistry lab techniques, and held multiple research roles at various institutions, including Apotex Inc. and Environment and Climate Change Canada. They earned their PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Toronto and a BSc in Honours Co-op Biochemistry from the University of Waterloo. Passionate about leveraging data science in healthcare, Julia is dedicated to advancing life science research and improving patient care.
