Michael Black has a diverse work experience starting from 1991. Michael worked as a Principal Development Chemist at Boots Pharmaceuticals Limited from 1991 to 1996. After that, they served as a Product Manager at Knoll AG, focusing on pharmaceutical products like Ibuprofen, Flurbiprofen, and Amylmetacresol. From 2001 to 2009, Michael worked at BASF as a Technical Marketing Manager for Pharma, where they introduced new pharmaceutical excipients and provided technical support to customers. After that, they joined Chemische Fabrik Budenheim, where they held the position of Head of Business Development Pharma. In this role, they led a team of six employees, managed innovation and IP, project management, and business expansion activities. Since 2014, they have been working as the Head of Sales Pharma at BENEO, where their responsibilities include promotions, customer presentations, technical service coordination, and supporting the sales and product management teams.

Michael Black obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biological Chemistry from Ulster University from the year 1982 to 1986. Michael then pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Organische Chemie from The University of Edinburgh, where they studied from 1986 to 1990. Following their PhD, they attended the University of Florida for a postdoctorate degree in Organische Chemie, which they completed from 1990 to 1991.
