Housed within the University of Cambridge’s New Whittle Lab, and powered by small, elite teams that combine AI with Formula 1-style rapid testing, BIL will compress development timelines from decades to months – matching US pacesetters, securing UK leadership, and attracting the world’s top talent.

BIL fills a critical gap in the UK’s innovation system – one not served by EPSRC, ATI, ARIA, or venture capital. It delivers where others cannot, by combining risk appetite, speed, and deep hardware capability. With sufficient government backing, our model can scale into a unique sovereign platform.

** The model is proven **
A philanthropically funded BIL mission has already secured UK patents in cryogenic jet engines and attracted Rolls-Royce investment. By scaling the model, we forecast the 20–30 bold missions could generate £5–30 billion in licensing revenue and spin-out equity – a 100–600× return, generating 5,000–10,000 high-skill UK jobs.
