Bennett's Village is building the first all-abilities, multigenerational play space in Charlottesville, Virginia. We are a community-driven nonprofit organisation that is advocating to create positive change in the way our world views disability inclusion.

The Mission:
In loving memory of Bennett, a joyful 5-year old who passed away in 2018 due to Spinal Muscular Atropy, we are building an inclusive play space at Pen Park in Charlottesville. Kids, parents, and people of all ages and abilities will be able to gather, play, and laugh together at the Bennett's Village play space - some for the first time in their lives. This one-of-a-kind, innovative play space will cover approximately 3 acres and include fully-accessible play structures and spaces such as a tree house, sensory garden, cableway, water play area, restroom pavilion, and native landscaping. This is a massive undertaking that will take all of us. It took a village to care for Bennett, and it will take a village to create this inclusive play space for the community.
