Benthos is a German non-profit tech company (gGmbH) building AI systems for coastal conservation.

We work with conservation organizations across mangrove restoration, MPAs and small-scale fisheries to create context-specific tools grounded in local knowledge, scientific rigor and data sovereignty.

For us, this means rethinking how AI is built for the ocean: not by starting global and forcing it to fit local realities, but by building from the ground up. That is how both coastal communities and ecosystems benefit in the long run.

Our team combines lived coastal experience with strong grounding in marine science and AI engineering.
