John Reed

John Reed is a seasoned finance professional with over three decades of experience in commercial mortgage and loan origination. Currently serving as the Senior Managing Director and Branch Manager of the Richmond Office at Berkadia Commercial Mortgage since December 2009, John has a proven track record of originating more than $3 billion in loans across multifamily, office, retail, hotel, and senior housing sectors. Prior to Berkadia, John held leadership roles at Capmark Finance Inc. as Senior Vice President and at GMAC Commercial Mortgage, where significant contributions were made to loan origination and servicing. John's earlier experience includes a Director position at Freddie Mac, where management of multifamily loan production resulted in $6 billion in investments, and a Vice President role at Bank of America, focusing on comprehensive real estate financing. John earned a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia in 1989.
