Ahmad Sultan

Ahmad Sultan is a seasoned professional in cybersecurity, privacy, and technology policy, currently serving as the Cybersecurity Program Manager and Privacy Officer at Berkeley Lab since March 2021, where responsibilities include managing cybersecurity risk and ensuring compliance with multiple regulations. Prior experience includes roles as the Associate Director for Research at the Center for Technology and Society, where partnerships with social media platforms were developed to analyze the online speech ecosystem, and as an Adjunct Professor at UC Berkeley’s School of Information, teaching graduate students about online speech policies. Ahmad has extensive research experience, including work with the Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity and collaboration with Defense Department officials on cybersecurity projects. Educational qualifications include a Master's Degree in Public Policy Analysis from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Philosophy from the University of Glasgow.
