Carl Grace

Carl Grace serves as the Department Head of Electronics, Software, and Instrumentation Engineering at Berkeley Lab since May 2010, leading a team of approximately 190 professionals in the engineering of accelerators and detectors. Previous roles include Staff Scientist & Group Leader for Integrated Circuits and Semiconductor Detectors, and IC Design Engineer, where contributions were made in high-performance particle detectors and multi-channel mixed-signal ASICs. Prior experience includes positions as Senior Analog Design Engineer at Analog Devices and Staff Analog Design Engineer at ClariPhy Communications, specializing in high-speed CMOS analog integrated circuits and multi-GHz ADCs for communication transceivers. Carl Grace earned a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Davis.
