Dan Gunter has been a Computer Systems Manager 1 and Research Scientist at Berkeley Lab since 1998, leading the Data Intensive Systems group within the Advanced Computing for Science department, focusing on research in distributed and parallel systems and data-intensive processes. Prior to this role, Gunter worked as a Student Research Assistant, contributing programming skills. Earlier experience includes providing IT support for tracking software at Applied Magnetics, Inc. from January 1993 to January 1995. Gunter holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from San Francisco State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Brown University, along with education from The Lawrenceville School.
