Daniel Gerber

Research Scientist

Daniel Gerber is a seasoned research scientist with extensive experience in electrical engineering and building distribution networks. Currently at Berkeley Lab since June 2016, Daniel has focused on modeling and simulating AC and hypothetical DC buildings, incorporating detailed components such as converters and solar power systems. Prior to this, Daniel contributed to the development of an integrated LED driver during graduate studies at UC Berkeley and further honed skills in the design of high-voltage integrated circuits during an internship at Texas Instruments. Additional experience includes an engineering internship at Apple, where a new display technology was prototyped, and work at MIT Lincoln Laboratory on a miniature optical payload for unmanned vehicles, demonstrating a broad technical proficiency in the field. Daniel holds a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master's degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
