Deirdre Olynick

Deirdre Olynick, PhD, MBA, currently serves as the Senior Business Manager at Berkeley Lab, leading finance and business operations for a $50 million portfolio at the Molecular Foundry. With extensive experience in business development and strategy across biotech and materials, Deirdre has held notable positions including Vice President of Partnerships and Portfolio at 1859, where partnership management and marketing initiatives were prioritized, and Senior Director of Corporate Business Development at Zymergen, focusing on strategic partnerships and growth. Past roles include Director of Business Development and Operations at ATOM and Associate Director of the Global Cancer Program at UCSF, as well as contributions at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory as a Staff Scientist. Deirdre holds an MBA from The Wharton School and a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
