Derun Li

Derun Li is a highly experienced physicist with a robust background in accelerator physics, holding the position of General Accelerator R&D Program Manager at the U.S. Department of Energy since November 2022. Li has been a key figure at Berkeley Lab since April 1997, serving as Senior Scientist and taking on various leadership roles including Director of the Berkeley Accelerator Controls and Instrumentation Center and Deputy Director of the Center for Beam Physics. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Physics from Indiana University Bloomington, a Postdoc in Accelerator Physics and RF technology from UC San Diego, and multiple degrees in Accelerator Physics from Tsinghua University.
