Diliya (Murtazina) Merlet is a graduate research fellow with extensive experience in energy science and engineering. Currently working at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Berkeley Lab as a subcontractor, Diliya has been involved in interdisciplinary research at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, since 2017, contributing to the development of STEM talent through the UT-Oak Ridge National Laboratory partnership. Previous roles include a sustainability internship at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where reporting and analysis on energy conservation were performed, as well as an environmental protection engineer position at Aray Holding, overseeing greenhouse gas emissions and environmental compliance. Diliya holds a PhD in Energy Science and Engineering from the University of Tennessee, a Master's degree in Engineering in Energy Systems from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and a Bachelor's degree in Ecology and Environmental Management from Lomonosov Moscow State University.
