Ermal Rrapaj

Ermal Rrapaj is an accomplished researcher in nuclear astrophysics, high-performance computing, quantum computing, and deep learning. Currently serving in the Advanced Technologies Group at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory since March 2023, Rrapaj has previously held positions at iTHEMS RIKEN as a RIKEN Berkeley Fellow and at N3AS Collaboration as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow focusing on the quantum many-body physics in extreme astrophysical environments. Rrapaj's earlier work includes postdoctoral research at the University of Guelph and graduate research assistant roles at the Institute of Nuclear Theory at the University of Washington, where extensive investigations in neutrino interactions and dark matter production were conducted. Rrapaj holds a Ph.D. in Nuclear Astrophysics and multiple master's degrees in Applied Mathematics and Physics from the University of Washington, as well as a double bachelor's degree in Physics and Applied Mathematics from Old Dominion University.
