George Smoot

George Smoot is the IAS TT & WF Chao Professor at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, where they also contribute to the Institute for Advanced Studies. They have held various esteemed positions, including Emeritus Professor at the University of California at Berkeley and Director of the Extreme Universe Laboratory at SINP Moscow State University. Additionally, George has directed the Paris Centre for Cosmological Physics and has been a Research Physicist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory since 1974. They earned both a Ph.D. and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
