Han Wang

Postdoctoral Fellow

Han Wang is a highly skilled physicist with extensive experience in condensed matter physics, specializing in X-ray absorption spectroscopy and first-principles methods. As a Postdoctoral Fellow at Berkeley Lab since April 2018, Han Wang has focused on the Cu L-edge XAS of metal-organic frameworks and developed a simplified model to correlate guest molecule LUMO energy levels with XAS peak positions. Previously, as a Research Assistant at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from August 2011 to December 2017, Han Wang studied structural and electronic properties of two-dimensional materials and carrier transfer processes in heterojunctions using advanced simulation techniques. Han Wang also served as a Teaching Assistant for quantum mechanics and introductory physics courses, providing support and grading for students. In a co-op position at GLOBALFOUNDRIES, Han Wang researched the Schottky barrier height of metal-semiconductor interfaces in FinFETs. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Condensed Matter Physics and a BS in Physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Jilin University, respectively.
