Joerg Heber

Joerg Heber is a seasoned research compliance and editorial professional with extensive experience in overseeing research integrity and compliance at Berkeley Lab since December 2020, serving as both Research Compliance Officer and Research Integrity Officer. Prior to this, Joerg held senior editorial roles at the Public Library of Science (PLOS), including Editorial Director and Editor-in-Chief of PLOS ONE, managing editorial strategies for multiple journals. Joerg also contributed significantly to Nature Research, with leadership roles such as Executive Editor of Nature Communications and Chief Physical Sciences Editor. Additional experience includes freelance science writing, visiting professorship at the University of Tokyo, and academic roles at The Philipp University of Marburg and Bell Laboratories. Joerg's educational background includes a PhD in Physics from Imperial College London.
