John Arrington

Program Head - Relativistic Nuclear Collisions Program at Berkeley Lab

John Arrington is an accomplished physicist with extensive experience in nuclear collisions and medium energy physics. Since September 2020, John has served as Program Head of the Relativistic Nuclear Collisions Program and Senior Scientist at Berkeley Lab. John's career at Jefferson Lab began in 1993 as a visiting research scientist, focusing on experimental work. Prior to Berkeley Lab, John was a Senior Scientist at Argonne National Laboratory from 1998 to September 2020, holding various leadership roles including Interim Division Director and Associate Division Director in the Physics Division. John’s academic foundation includes a Ph.D. in Physics from the California Institute of Technology, where John conducted research as a Graduate Research Assistant, and a B.S. in Applied Mathematics, Engineering, and Physics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
