Jonathan Slack

Jonathan Slack has extensive experience in scientific engineering and research, currently serving as a Principal Scientific Engineering Associate at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory since January 1988. In this role, Slack focuses on X-Ray Synchrotron Instrumentation, involving beamline, endstation, and optics development, along with fabrication, commissioning, and publication of research. Previously at the same institution, as a Senior Scientific Engineering Associate, responsibilities included designing UHV vacuum systems, developing thin film deposition systems, and creating electrochromic window systems through PVD device fabrication. Earlier career positions include Senior Research Associate and Mechanical Engineering Technologist at the University of California at Berkeley, where research centered on LDL/HDL plasma lipoproteins, as well as a Research Associate at Genetics Institute, conducting genetic engineering and human diagnostic tests. Jonathan Slack earned a degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz, from 1980 to 1984.
