Julia Correa serves as the Science Lead at the Geosciences Measurement Facility at Berkeley Lab since January 2018, overseeing projects in geophysical methods for subsurface characterization and monitoring, with a focus on carbon storage and geothermal energy. Julia's expertise includes seismic data acquisition and analysis using distributed fiber-optic sensing. Prior experience involves a Ph.D. in Exploration Geophysics from Curtin University, where research concentrated on cost-effective seismic monitoring techniques. Julia also has a background in field geophysics at WesternGeco, and internships at Schlumberger and Geosoft Inc., enhancing technical skills in seismic processing and software support.
