Kevin Akey

Kevin Akey is an Assurance Manager in the Facilities Division at Berkeley Lab, where they perform environmental health and safety assurance activities to identify and monitor risks and ensure compliance with Department of Energy contract requirements. Previously, they served as Assurance Manager at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory from 2005 to 2015, focusing on incident management and compliance oversight. Kevin also held roles at Pacific Gas and Electric Company, including Change Control Expert and Senior Quality Operations Specialist, where they managed safety improvement initiatives. They earned a Master’s Degree in Environmental Management from the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
