Laney Saye is an emerging professional with practical experience in research and education within the fields of physics and engineering. As a SULI Intern at Berkeley Lab, Laney validated a cooldown simulation tool utilizing data from the Simons Observatory. In roles as a Research Affiliate, Laney developed cryogenic superconducting electronics for dark matter detection and optimized thermal models for cryogenic telescope behavior. Additional experiences include collaborating with industry and academia as a team member at Quantum Computing at Berkeley, serving as a course reader for a large physics class at the University of California, Berkeley, and mentoring undergraduate students in the MPS Scholars program. Laney graduated from Chadwick School in 2023 with a high school diploma.
