Michael Barnett

Michael Barnett is a Senior Physicist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, with a career spanning from September 1984 to the present. As the Creator and Executive Producer of the planetarium show "Phantom of the Universe," which has been running since 2012, Barnett contributes to the exploration of dark matter's history and significance. Active in public service, Barnett serves as an Executive Board member and member of the Resolutions Committee for the California Democratic Party since 1998, and as an elected member of the Alameda County Democratic Party since 2006. Additionally, Barnett has been involved with the ATLAS Experiment at the Large Hadron Collider since 1994, focusing on outreach and education, and previously led the International Particle Data Group from 1990 to 2015. Academic credentials include a PhD in Physics from the University of Chicago and a BS in Physics from Antioch College.
