Michael Thornton is a data scientist and software engineer with extensive experience in bioinformatics and application development. Currently serving as a Staff Data Scientist at Berkeley Lab, Michael has previously held senior engineering roles at Apton Biosystems, Invitae, Bio-Rad Laboratories, and Life Technologies. At Apton Biosystems, they designed and developed a data warehouse for NGS sequencing results, while at Life Technologies, they architected the widely-used AmpliSeq Designer pipeline, contributing significantly to its global launch and sales success.
