Miguel Heleno is a Staff Scientist in Power Systems Planning and Economics, currently leading research projects at Berkeley Lab's Grid Integration Group. They have held various positions, including Short Term Consultant for The World Bank Group and Justice40 Fellow at the U.S. Department of Energy. Miguel previously served as a Senior Scientific Engineering Associate and Postdoctoral Researcher at Berkeley Lab, as well as a Policy Advisor at the Assembly of the Republic. They earned both an MSc and a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Sustainable Energy Systems from Universidade do Porto, and participated in an Erasmus exchange program at Czech Technical University in Prague.
