Nihar Shah

Presidential Director, Global Cooling Efficiency Program

Nihar Shah is an accomplished energy and environmental policy research scientist with over a decade of experience at Berkeley Lab, where notable roles include Presidential Director of the Global Cooling Efficiency Program and Deputy Leader of the International Energy Studies Group. Shah's expertise focuses on energy efficiency and low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants, contributing significantly to the Kigali Cooling Efficiency Program and the Superefficient Equipment and Appliance Deployment (SEAD) Initiative. Previous roles include Utilities Engineer at the California Public Utilities Commission and Research Engineer at Radiant Engineers.
