Peter Nugent

Peter Nugent currently serves as the Division Deputy for Scientific Engagement, Senior Staff Scientist, and Department Head for Computational Science at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, where innovative research enhances high-performance computational science applications. With experience leading the Computational Cosmology Center, Peter Nugent focuses on the discovery and observation of supernovae, utilizing high-performance computing for significant scientific investigations. Peter Nugent has also served as an Adjunct Professor of Astronomy at UC Berkeley and held the position of Team Lead for Data Analytics at NERSC. Peter Nugent completed a Ph.D. in Physics and Astronomy and holds a Master's degree in Physics from the University of Oklahoma, alongside an undergraduate degree in Physics and Math from Bowdoin College.
