Raymond Gao is a Computer Science intern at Berkeley Lab since October 2025, with prior experience as a Computational Biochemistry Research Scholar at the American Chemical Society, focusing on the structural analysis of Tyrosine-tRNA Ligase from Helicobacter pylori. Raymond also worked as a Mathematics Instructor at Mathnasium of Yorktown, assisting middle and high school students in various math subjects from September 2022 to July 2025. Additional research experience includes a position as a Computer Science Researcher at Jefferson Lab, where kinematic reconstruction methods for the Electron-Ion Collider were studied, and as a Computational Biology Researcher at Geisel School of Medicine, investigating Trichomonas vaginalis macrophage migratory inhibitory factor. Raymond's work at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center involved annotating squamous cells in a cervical cancer project, leveraging skills in Python for data analysis. As a distinguished participant in NASA’s Virginia Space Grant program, Raymond engaged in aerospace science and engineering research and will obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley in 2029.
